    My first Stowa, incoming

I've been sleeping on German watches for a long time and have recently realized how much I appreciate them. I've been very impressed with Archimede and Damasko so far, and this evening I just hit the buy button on a lightly used 1-year old Stowa Verus 40. I realize it's a departure in some respects from the "true" Flieger form but after looking over various models for a week or 2 (from different brands as well), I kept coming back to the Verus. I like the 40mm size, not really into blued hands (yet), I don't need a date but I do like the look of it here, and it's the top grade 2824. All for the price of a new Verus with the base 2824. Now I just wait for the arrival! Random internet pics:

Nice choice! I own one Stowa Marine Classic and was edging towards this model but I may be getting my first Damasko. It’ll depend on my finances.

I’ve read that the lime on this Verus is very good.

    Congrats on your acquisition!

Well done! I like the approach of getting the top grade slightly used as opposed to the basic new. I feel like Stowa did a great job with this model, making it a little more “tool” watch looking while maintaining an honest flieger look.

I think this is a great idea especially if you are looking for a true tool watch to compliment the marine. If the DA36 was 38mm I never would have let it go.

I was debating the basic vs top grade for a little while, and it just turned out this listing had the top finish so I didn't have to make the choice :) I've always been a bead blasted/matt/Ti finish type of guy too so again, the Verus is perfect for me, not to mention the cool blue lume!

Congrats on your soon to be incoming! You cannot beat Stowa at that price point. A really cool brand that always has given me a warm fuzzy feeling... Enjoy!

I think Stowa fliegers are “the best” (unless you want to pay IWC $$, which I know you don’t.). I love mine. The Verus is a neat take on the classic design. Enjoy!
