Need your collective wisdom here . . . please & soon

My AO shipped but with an alternate strap. The strap I had ordered comes available with Stowa next Thursday (April 24). But I am to leave the US for a 3 month tour to India, departing April 28. Although the great service they have, Stowa is OK with shipping the strap next Thursday via International Air Mail (they say it takes 4-8 days). Should I ask them to mail to the US - i.e. do you have any ideas if it will get here by the 28th? I can delay by a day and fly out 29th, if you think it gets here by then surely. So that is option one.
Option 2 - is to have them mail it to an address in India - anyone here with experience with customs and clearance issues in India with a lone strap? Option 3 - would be to have them not mail anything now, but only when I am back in the States after the next 3 months. PLEASE ADVISE as soon as conveniently possible as I have to give them my decision in the next few hours. MANY THANKS!

Relax, its just a strap. You have the watch, right ? Have them send you the strap to the US at your convenience and buy one there that you like. Take your time researching retailers in India. The options in NYC are probably the most immediate and cost effective for you. My advice? NEITHER OPTION. Go shopping. Have fun. Good luck... AND...( slow down )

Congratulations on your new AO. Hey...where are your images of it? We need proof!!!

Waiting for the watch was the hard part and you survived, right? Strap options are many, and the AO is in your posession. Get several straps in the meantime. Enjoy the watch and wear it well.

Congratulations on your new arrival. If I were you I wouldn't worry about the strap situation. You have a lifetime of AO pleasure ahead of you. I would use the alternate strap for your trip and you will then have something to look forward to on your return.

Look forward to seeing photos of your AO. Out of interest what serial number is it? Very keen to know how production progress is going.

Ah, the sage advise from Glen - thank you and you are all correct! I just got it this morning and my 22 month old also said 'wow' on his own. Has to be the first wow on seeing a Stowa AO from an under 2 year old!!! Good taste he has, I am sure everyone on this forum will agree.

    The serial is 625.

    I must confess two things:

    (i) Even though I love it, I find the dial has less intense black to it than what I may have been expecting, but more importantly,
(ii) I find the AO original old style strap color to be uncoordinated with the style and color of the watch. IMHO a light color of the strap does not do it for me.

I was thinking of posting pictures but decided against it since it is no different than the other 624 we have all seen (if not more). Tell me if you take offense to that thought and I will try to get a few up in the next day or two.

Yes, to if we want pictures! Silly question.

The guys are right. I say grab a NATO strap for the trip, see if you find anything in NY and you can always shop abroad also. You have it great!
