Re: New release: Stowa Partitio 41 Small Second

Guess I'm in the minority on this one, but I love this. I've been looking at this on the novelties on Stowa's site for a year now, wondering when/if they'd actually make it. I love small seconds watches, but I don't own one yet, and this is a great all-rounder watch. I already own a Partitio, but I STILL might buy this. I have a 7.4 in. wrist, and while I've gotten used to the size of my Partitio, it is smaller than what I usually wear (39-42mm). This is right in the sweet spot: a perfect size for me, as long as it's not too thick (I prefer under 13mm). Might put it on a different strap, though--the croc seems too formal for the brushed case in that shape. Like the manual movement, too. I suspect it will sell well.

In the making of a new version they seem to have lost everything that made the partitio such a charming and understated classic in the first place.

Hmm, a lug-to-lug over 50mm definitely puts this outside the range of my 165mm/6.5in wrist. Another new watch I wouldn't be able to wear well (looking at you too, Hamilton Murph)

I’ve the same size wrist and the same sentiment!

Disappointing to me. As previously stated the scaled up version seems to have lost its charm: number/dial proportion, new text font and loss of large second hand. I've been wanting the original version, but for a wrist size of 8+" the 37mm seems a just too small.

I own the original Partitio, which I believe is a 37mm. Upsizing this to 41 ruins it for me. But, let’s all remember, the world would be boring if we all liked the same watches.....

Does anyone know if this watch will also be available with a black dial?

I'd be interested in a black dial if they make it. But, silver dial with blued hands would also be nice...however, only if it still has lume on those blued hands.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed this makes an appearance at the NYC Windup Watch Fair. It’s one of the only watches I think I would be really tempted by.

I asked Stowa and they said it will NOT be at the Windup Watch Fair NYC. They previously said this would be available mid 2019... Oh well, at least I don’t have to worry about an unplanned purchase.
