New Stowa Antea not keeping time. Help!

So, I recently purchased a Stowa Antea KS - white/silver dial.
It's a wonderful watch. Beautifully constructed. Well done to Stowa.

However, I've had an issue with the watch. It is only running for about 12 hours on a full wind before halting.

I am gently winding the watch clockwise until there is resistance felt in the crown, and the mainspring flicks the crown back (as witnessed through the caseback). So, it seems the watch is fully wound.

However, over the last 30 hours or so, the watch has ran down twice.

In total, it's lasted only about 12-14 hours. This is strange given the ETA 7001's 44 hour power reserve.
The first time the watch wound down, it was resting on my bedside table. The second time was on my wrist.

I've wound many manual watches before without issue.
    I've emailed the Stowa team.

Is there something I am missing?
    Could the watch be defective?

Yet another report of an issue with this movement. Well established number of posts about it. I absolutely refuse to own another one personally (my wife's KS was problematic). I won't even buy a very modified Nomos version. Automatic Nomos models only for me.

I'm sure Jorge will straighten you out as customer service from Stowa is top notch and at legendary status at this point.

Thanks for clearing that up. I've just searched the forum again, and yes, looks like Stowa Antea's have this issue, which is disappointing.

If I knew, I would have considered a Nomos with a DUW movement.

My problem is that I'm in Australia. Shipping back to Germany will be expensive.

Did you purchase it new or was it new within the last 2 years? If so, then this should be covered by the warranty and be a no-cost repair.

Time for a replacement or another model of Stowa, IMHO.

Like others have said, Stowa's customer service is excellent. I had a bezel issue and they straightened it out right away. Don't worry about the shipping, as Stowa will likely cover that as well. Good luck!

    Good to hear.

Yes, the watch is brand new - purchased from the Stowa site last week.

    An update to the situation;

The good folks at STOWA will service and regulate the watch to fix this defect. They've also agreed to cover the shipping which is great news for me given I'm in Australia.

Only wish I had more wrist time with this great looking watch, as I've only worn it for a day at most. It's lived in the box for most of its time here.

I'll post an update on its return.

Ok, so the watch is back after a few weeks!

The team at STOWA serviced and regulated the movement. The crown now turns approximately 24 full winds, and the watch runs around +6.0s on the timegrapher.

I must say, the STOWA team did an fantastic job. Customer service was excellent, with continued communication via email within a few hours (given the time difference). They even bundled a present - a STOWA branded Victorinox swiss army knife and a printed catalogue!

I'll be giving them my business again shortly. Either a Baumuster B, or Flieger TO1. Well done to Jörg and the team at STOWA!
