    Partitio Display Back Pics

Partitio with display back landed today. Wonderful! Just a gorgeous little watch. I have a 7.5" wrist, for scale.

Looks great! Love the handwinding movement in this one.

Really like the tan/cream color. Very unique.

Congrats on your new acquisition. Enjoy your new Stowa.

Love the dial color and open arabics.

I owned a white model and it looked nice on a tan ostrich strap.

Really nice looking watch and strap combo. Congrats!

Regarding the crown: I do prefer the look of this crown vs. an onion crown, but I was wondering whether this crown was a "challenge" for someone to grab hold of and handwind. I only ask because I sort of have "bear fingers", and the onion is a lot easier for me to wind. Thanks.

The onion crown is easier to wind. I have one on my Baumuster B. However, I know the crown on the Partitio was made larger, so it is not terribly hard to wind. I think it suits this watch better than the onion.

Agreed all around. An onion crown on that particular style of watch likely would not look near as nice. Thanks for your reply.

I just might have to put this one on my wish list for the new year.........

So what are people's thoughts on display backs? Do you always get them when offered?

For me it's not a big deal either way, but I think depends on the watch style (and how attractive the movement is). For a watch on the dressier or more refined side, the display back is nice; for a tool or military watch, I think it's a little contrary to the aesthetic. On the Partitio, the display back looks great -- especially in the photos at the top of the thread! I really love my TO2 but I think it would have worked a bit better with a solid case back.
