pics of flieger old style strap w/brushed rivets?

Has anyone brushed the rivets on their old style strap? Seems like it would match the all brushed case better. I am tempted to do this, esp. since the strap is only 20 Euros, but would love to see a photo if anyone has attempted that.

Ideas on how to get good circular brush lines would also be appreciated. Tape off the strap around the rivets, wrap some scotchbrite around the eraser end of a pencil and twist the pencil in a circular fashion on top of each rivet?

I don't have the strap anymore, but I did brush out my rivets using a 400 grit nail sanding block with the rivets taped off to protect the strap. I used a vertical motion to match the brushed grain of the case and case sides.

Turned out very good, IMHO, and I am sure you could get the same results with a scotchbrite pad, etc.

Thanks. I knew I wasn't the only one having this idea.

Easy to do. Just protect the surrounding area and start with the least abrasive grit first and work down if needed.

The biggest mistake most make when trying to brush out stainless is getting too aggressive with heavy grits on the first try.

Less is always better and you can switch to something with more correcting ability in terms of grit if needed.
