Received my Stowa Flieger Baumuster B watch with SW 215-1

The watch itself is beautiful. However, when I inquired about the watch, I asked about the modified SW 215-1 movement. Since it was going into a non-date model, I was told it would be modified to have only 1 crown position for time adjustment instead of 2. However, my watch still has 2 crown positions. Anybody else run into this problem?

So now, if I don't pull the crown out all the way, technically it is in first position (date). If I turn the crown usually nothing will happen. But sometimes it will "click" and slip to time adjustment function.

That's odd. Stowa told me that with the Partitio, which uses the same movement now, they remove the date mechanism and also change the crown lever. I would think they would also do this for other non-date dial watches with this movement. Do you hear or feel a date wheel advancing when you turn the crown (I think clockwise, but try both directions) in the date-change position? It's very subtle, but you should be able to hear or feel it if it's in there. If the crown just spins freely and you're convinced the date wheel has been removed, I probably wouldn't worry about the non-functioning crown position; but if it bugs you, you could send it back for warranty service. I'm still not sure why Stowa doesn't use the non-date SW210; maybe they get a better deal when they buy one caliber in bulk, but that's just an uneducated guess.

    Dear jermyzy,

its me, Jörg Schauer, CEO of the STOWA Brand.

I think the best would be to send the watch back - we take the costs of course.

It seems that it could be with two positions, but some description gives the feeling maybe not.

To solve the problem and to verify yes or no, i would prefer to have the watch in my hands to give you 100% customers satisfaction ;)

    best regards

Thanks for the response Jorg. I'm assuming Sandra will contact me next week when she's back to arrange for shipping?

The watch is almost perfect. If we can get the crown position fixed, I will be very satisfied with the watch :)
