Sell my Flieger for a Hamilton Khaki in Quartz?

Yes, I know this sounds insane. I've really connected to my Stowa Flieger -- it's everything I could want in a watch (at the price point). I've had it for about 4-5 years, and I'm nearing the servicing date, and paying $250 is hard to swallow. Beyond that, it's $250 every 4-5 for the rest of my life.

I'm looking for your thoughts on whether it would be crazy to sell my Stowa, buying the Hamilton in Quartz, and pocketing the difference. I know I won't connect with it like my Stowa, but it's just really hard to justify servicing a $900 every 4-5 years. If the watch was an IWC Pilot or something, it would make a lot more sense.

I know this is obviously a personal decision, but I'd like to hear what you guys think.

EDIT: Screw it, I'm keeping it. The servicing fee works out to less than $5 a month. I can forgo McDonalds once a month.

20 dollars & 85 cents a month! Definitely keep the Stowa.

I'd say delay the servicing a few more years as long as it's functioning properly.
    Stick with your Stowa.

I considered just letting it run for years until it absolutely needs service, but wouldn't that destroy the movement? I know Stowa watches aren't considered heirloom watches, but I'd like to have it for the rest of my life, which is why I'm in this predicament.

I have no idea, but to add another layer of complication is that they may not be available as Swatch Group is reducing (stopping) supply of their movements.

I picked up my first Stowa with ETA 2824 movement in 2006. It has never been serviced and it is still running fine. I noticed there is a drop of power reserve and that’s about it.

worst comes to comes im sure a sellita sw200-1 would fit in there. it is a clone of the eta 2824. the standard grade is about 180 usd? a top grade is like 250 or 280 usd i think. I'm in the crowd that says if it aint broke dont fix it lol

We have a saying “no such thing as a stupid question”. Sorry, but this one is.

Don’t sell the watch. Give it to a local watchmaker, he will probably service it for half that cost. ETAs are not hard to service.

Don’t sell things you enjoy in your life. You only live once. Not everything can be given a price tag.

I see you already decided anyway, so I’m late, but I just wanted to reinforce your decision.
