    Stowa! Sorry I was unfaithful.

I currently own four Stowa watches. I wanted a chronograph watch, but none of the current Stowa models were quite the style I wanted. I finally purchased the Hanhart Pioneer MKI, which had the look and quality level I could afford. Although the watch is of an excellent standard, the buying experience was poor. I purchased through the nominated dealer (although a grey import would have been cheaper) in order to have the full support of the brand. It only underlined that Stowa not only produce excellent quality watches, but they give an excellent pre and post sales service. The difference is that, unlike Hanhart, I would happily return again and again to Stowa.

Good choice. STOWA don't mind if you go polygamy. Hahahah

I really like that watch and I am contemplating buying it too :) I dig the black version. It would be nice if you share so photos and impressions, though I am not sure here is the right place.

Not sure about trying to make the buying experience between the two a comparable one. There are a number of AD's for Hanhart. But I do agree about Stowa sporty chronographs. I'll be interested in a Flieger version that doesn't look quite so out of the box.

Thanks for the replies and welcome.

The Hanhart is a good watch. Worn and Wound has a good review and pictures.

I think the Stowa direct sales model works better than the dealership distribution model as information from the horse's mouth gives one confidence. My Hanhart dealer experience was poor and made the purchase detrimental to my brand appreciation and future enthusiasm for any further dealings with them. Stowa by contrast always made me feel valued as a customer and confident of aftersales dealings.

Enough watches out there for everyone. Good to have variety once in a while, IMHO.

Do you mind sharing what made your experience not so good with the Hanhart dealer? I agree about Stowa's customer experience. They have always been very responsive and helpful about my Flieger purchase.

    Hi Airrun.
Maybe I was unlucky?! I decided I would respect the dealership network and paid £300.00 more that available grey imports. A 100%, just shy of £2,000.00, prepayment was taken and a delivery time of 10-14 days quoted. Eventually 5 weeks later after a lot of chasing and inaccurate information, I got the watch. If a 5 week lead time had been originally quoted, I would have accepted it. The dealer's response was 'the watch will be worth it'. Direct access to the manufacturer, from my Stowa experience has always been accurate. In addition, payment is just before shipment.
