Timing Regulation for Stowa in USA?

Does anyone have a watch repair shop in the USA that they have used for a Stowa watch. My Icarus is running about -10 secs/day and I'd love to have the regulation dialed in to where it is running +1 to +2 secs/day side.

I have done this type of regulation with success in the past on lower end automatic watches. But I don't want to take the risk of damage with my Stowa Icarus.

I've called a couple shops in the Chicago area and no one wants to touch it.

    Hi -

Not sure off the top of my head what is inside the Ikarus, but at the end of the day it's a standard ETA caliber. For regulation purposes that should be doable by any competent watchmaker, it shouldn't take more than a hour or so of billable time, even adjusted to 5 positions.

Perhaps that is the approach to take (and will immediately let them know that you've got at least an inkling of knowledge): let them know what the caliber is inside the watch before you tell them the brand name.

Thanks for the reply John. It's a Swiss ETA 2824-2 automatic. I agree that it's an easy adjustment. If not for the trouble of taking off the watch back and having the correct size tools I'd do it myself. Just wondering if anyone here has a shop in the USA they've used and trust.

Try these guys. Never used them, but I heard really good things about them.

Of course, I am not affiliated with them.

I know a local guy up here in MA that has done a great job regulating some of my Dad's watches. I also bought a Tissot from him a while back and have gone into his store just to talk watches many times.

He is not online though....just a small Brick & Mortar store. I can send you his number if you like....not sure if you want to go through the hastle of mailing the watch out of town.

Oh yeah, interestingly enough he is an AD for Limes ....one of only a handful in this country. If I ever decide to get a Limes I will definitely be buying it from him.

I don't remember exactly but I thought there was an authorized Swatch service center somewhere in the Illinois region. I would bet they would be able to do it. You may want to check in the Omega forum.

I just mailed them the Stowa Icarus. They said they could regulate it per my request to make it +1 to +2 secs/day. I'll let you know the results of the regulation when the watch returns to me.
