Off Topic post Trouble deciding on 2nd Stowa

As you can see by my signature, I'm a fan of fliegers and military-type dials.

I have a Stowa Ikarus on order that will be ready to ship around 8/1. That watch was ordered at the beginning of April, but since then I picked up one of the 2801 special edition fliegers, which was a change of plans, so to speak. Now I'm wondering if the Ikarus will be too similar to add to the collection. As a result, I'm considering cancelling the order, or maybe ordering a Seatime instead since I don't have a diver.

I do love the rhodium dial of the Ikarus, which sets it apart from other fliegers, but it will still feel an awful lot like my 2801 since it uses the same case. Besides the grey dial, the differences from my 2801 are the standard signed crown, display back, and of course the 2824-2 automatic movement. Is it different enough to add alongside my 2801?

So on one hand, I find the Ikarus beautiful, but maybe too similar to my 2801. I prefer hand winds with sterile dials to automatics with date windows, although the Ikarus black date window at 6:00 is very well done. I like the solid back of my 2801 flieger too.

On the other hand, I'm not usually a big fan of divers, or thick/chunky watches, but the Seatime / Prodiver have always looked really cool to me. It would stand out as something different in my small collection too.

    What are your thoughts?

Do the Seatime & Prodiver use the same case? Lug-to-lug is the same, but the Prodiver is about 2mm thicker. Must be from the solid case back.

Seatime measures 13.5mm thick, versus 15.5mm for the Prodiver. I'm interested in how much heavier and bulkier the Prodiver "feels". I really like the limette dial offered in the Prodiver, but I'm not doing any actual diving and I'm sure the Seatime would serve me fine for less money.

I guess I'm biased since I ordered a Seatime PD a few weeks ago; so that is my vote.

    +1 for the Seatime.

Why not consider one of the Limited Edition WUS Seatimes?

I thought the WUS LE Seatimes sold out long ago?

At this point I'm trying to decide if I should consider the Prodiver as well as the Seatime. I tend to not like chunky watches and the Prodiver is very thick. But I just love that limette dial color.

Not according to that page I linked to - some 30+ have been sold of this particular limited...
Also - it's worth an email to Stowa to see if a limette coloured dial is possible on a Seatime - they can only say no... and they have previously done a range of colours.
