Two reasons to like the 1938 Chronograph

While I await the 1938 chronograph black, I wanted to share thoughts on 1938. I have owned the watch for over a year and I have enjoyed wearing it. There are many things to like about this watch, but two things stand out:

Pink gold tone hands and embossed dial: The color varies under different light conditions but it is such a warm color. Under the sunlight, glistening bronze reminds me of the sun's rays making that gold shine in the dark-age clocks around Prague. The bronze color make the dial come alive. I love the combination of polished case with the bronzed dial which is versatile for both jeans and suit. Although, the 1938 black looked better with the suit

Subtle bicompax design: The bicompax design is so subtle and minimal that your focus remains on the numbers and hands. Both the seconds counter and 30 min. register sit recessed in the dial. As a result, the dial looks uncluttered and it also makes the numbers more prominent.

I have one too and it is a stunner.

If I may I would correct some info, the hands are supposed to be pink gold plated, not bronze.
The numerals are not applied but instead this is a pressed bronze dial, this classic dial manufacturing technique gives the dial these absolutely sharp looking numerals.

I'm considering getting the black version with date as well.

    Cheers,

    CT

    You are welcome.

Have your friend the photographer shoot some more 1938 pics please?
This watch just loves to be photographed, but even a pro photographer can hardly show the true beauty of this thing.

Once you have seen one of these in person, you are sold!

    Cheers,

    CT

nice write up and great pics...I'm awaiting delivery of one of these...I have my fingers crossed for the end of September but Stowa are being delightfully vague and non-committal about that.

It all makes sense when you receive your Stowa
