    Vintage 50 mm Stowa

    Hello to all of you..

I recently bought this Stowa on Ebay :

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&it em=220436256006

-Does anyone have any info on this watch -is it even genuine??

-I'll post better pictures when I receive it.

It is a genuine Stowa pocket watch (not a wrist watch originally) with a common swiss movement (I doubt it is German) which was then transformed into a wrist watch. Not the pilot watch the ebay-seller was referring to. Case was probably made out of brass with a chrome layer.

So I got the watch today, -nicely packed, and I must say so far no problems -keeps time perfect (since 8 hours ago -still same hour / minutes as a quartz watch)

    Here's some more..

Does anyone know where to buy a new strap for these cases ??

-Even better, -does anyone know if it's possible to have the watch made into a 'proper' wristwatch ?
-Anyone with any knowledge about buying cases to fit these big watches?

    Thanks in advance..

    Hi Claus,

I guess it's too expensive to change case, bezel, glass etc. etc.

But if you want another strap there is a craftsman in Köln/Cologne, who works for really low prices:

Scroll the page down and you will find address, phone number and email address.

I only can recommend his labour,

Does anyone know who has or where a new case (also for wrist) can be found ?
