What do we think of 1970s' era Seatimes?

I saw a nice looking one and was thinking that this might meet my needs for an inexpensive dive watch--a classy alternative to a new Seiko. Is this a bad idea? Would it be hard to get it up-to-spec for water resistance? Do 1970s Seatimes hold up well?

Mike, that's disappointing. I love the look of those watches, and yours is a beauty. Have you thought about trying to overhaul yours with new gaskets, etc.?

I guess I'm among those who've voiced their wish for a smaller, less robust Seatime than the current model.

Watch is cleaned, oiled and in perfect condiction, no need for new gaskets or an overhaul. Had to fix the bezel after some time of wear. I am more concerned about the crown tube, stem, lubrication of this beauty.
    Kind regards
    Mike
