    7S26 troubleshooting

I have been slowly working on changing the hands and dial of a plain jane 007 lately. Today as I finished up and prepared to case the movement, I removed the winding stem as usual and placed the movement in the case. I noticed that the second had stopped, so I removed the movement and now the movement does not run even on the movement holder. (Prior, it ran fine for several hours.)

I'm at a loss here. I can get the movement to run for a few seconds if I pull the stem out to the setting position and move the hands ( Hands are not binding.), but it stops again.

    Ideas please?

    thanks,

    RMD
