    Bezel Change:7N36-6A29

I have a 7N36-6A29 that I bought in the early 1990's. I found on another thread that the 8631.1884 bezel will work, Cousins.uk had one left in stock.

    https://www.cousinsuk.com/search?SearchTerm=SEI86311884

Does anyone have advice for removing/installing the bezel? I've heard getting the bezel off a 7N36 is tricky (on the other hand, I don't need to retain it either).

I've tried using a knife blade, but even a sharp blade doesn't really fit well under the bezel and I've had no luck.

Besides the bezel, the case/strap only needs some minor polishing and it will be in excellent shape (incredible, give the use this one has had).

Below is my watch. Besides a bunch of batteries, it's never given me any issues.

I also picked up a new Jubilee bracelet, this one has gotten very much stretched and loose over the past 25 years.

I rec'd the new bezel from Cousins and it was a perfect match (whew, a $60 investment).

Someone on Youtube who had modded a 7N36 told me that a knife edge needed to be tapped under the bezel to pop it off. I mounted the watch in some soft rubber vise jaws and tapping the knife edge in, it came right off.

I cleaned out a couple of decades of crud and polished out some of the heavier scratches. This watch has had a lot of abuse in 25 years. I used 800/1000/1500/2000 wet paper, then buffed by machine with Stainless rouge and White Diamond.

A new, OEM Seiko Jubilee bracelet is incoming. As you might imagine, the old one was pretty stretched. The top edge of the case had been polished years ago, so now I need to decide to leave it polished or put back the matte finish. I think the bracelet will have alternating matte/polished sections. I'll mull that over when it arrives.

Here's the new bezel and case.

Added a new Seiko Jubilee that I polished, the case was already polished, so to match. The new bracelet isn't quite the quality of the old ($20 via Ebay), but will work well for my beater watch.
