direct replacement for Seiko Quartz 8f33 movement

Long story short, The movement on the 8f33 HAQ is not working anymore. I bought it as junk. l

I like the titanium watch case, dial and hands.

Is there any direct replacement for this quartz watch? I am looking for a cheap alternative. I don't care if it's not HAQ. I just need the watch working again.

    thanks fory our input.

VX43 (or vx33 check the ligne size) is the closest movement to it.

Thanks for your help. Would the hands and dial fit?
Do I need to do any modifications?

Why not have the 8f33 repaired?
Dial feet may or may not work, can always dial dots. Hands hole fit should be fine.

Hey ACace1. how it going buddy?

Under close inspection it looks like the one of the coils was messed with and it need to be replaced. I heard that parts for this are non existent and the repair might cost more than what the watch is worth.

    Do you have any recommendations?

All is well my friend. I dont have a specific source, but I've heard there is a very good repair shop there in LA that specializes in Seikos, cant recall name at the moment. Maybe pick up a cheap less than attractive 8f32 watch for parts donor?

I'm think so. That probably requires sodering and my watchmaking skills are not that advance.
Is this something easy to do?

The good news is, the coil unit is held in place by 2 screws (1 on each end). No soldering needed. The bad news is you will have to partially disassemble the backside of the movement to get to them.

Go to boley.de under the caliber tab type “seiko 8f33” on the page that appears you can download a pdf schematic of this movement. There you can see what must be done to get to the coil.
