Removing the finish or plating or coating off a watch?

I was wondering what kind of a process, how hard or involved it would be, cost effective?

Can be done manually with fine grit sandpaper. Never tried a chemical process to do it.

If it's not stainless steel it won't be worth it.

Actually if it is brass underneath, then that's what I'm looking for I. Just need to look for the ones that are brass underneath, and then some just say base metal..

You're right brass would be killer, it's the base metal that I had in mind.
