Buying a Breguet automatic watch? Donít buy a watch-winder for it!

I bought Breguet Tradition 7097 last year and bought a Wolf winder for it because the winder I had looked cheap for a Breguet.

After trying countless configurations, the watch always stopped after a few days.

Thought something may be wrong with the watch. I visited AD yesterday and asked if I should have the watch serviced.

His answer was it is normal and they receive the complaints often....

Iím glad mine doesnít even have date, not to mention perpetual calendar ;)

Now I have a use for a very nice wooden case it came in :)

That’s just one of the great things about no date watches. I wouldn’t use a winder anyway, it’s just too easy to set a no date dress watch. I think where winders come in handy is for watches with a screw down crown and date (and obviously for annual/perpetual calendars). But in any case, the Breguet Tradition is a great watch, from one of my favorite brands. Enjoy!

Based on what Iíve heard from watchmakers, wonder are bad news and tend to lead to premature wear. Iím steering clear of them.
