A Couple of Jaquet Droz Macro Shots

I had to try out my new macro lens, so thought I'd get some shots of my JD and share them... these are multi-shot stacks to get everything in focus.

    Mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnn...................

I just don't like the small main dial that is JD's trademark, but their dial work is absolutely top shelf. Ocular diabetes of the highest order.

Assuming that's not sarcasm, I'd have to disagree. I also have a Panomaticlunar, which I think has a wonderful small main dial.

Although I'll also say it's something I tend to like in general... whether it be from Breguet, Maurice Lacroix, MB&F, Epos, Vacheron, etc.

Very nice shots mate! We want more!
I'd love some close ups on the text and logo at 6 o'clock.

Very distinct. Kudos for getting a piece you won't see much in the wild, I really like that.

I actually need to try to use a macro lens to take clear pics of an embodiment of a CBD oil capsule.

What do you use for lighting to show details?
“I shall pass this way but once; any good that I can do or
any kindness I can show to any human being; let me do it now.
Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.” Etienne de Grellet.

“[E]very [person] I meet is my superior in some way, and in that I learn from [that person].” Ralph Waldo Emerson.

“If you argue and rankle and contradict, you may achieve
a victory sometimes; but it will be an empty victory because
you will never get your opponent's good will.” Ben Franklin.

I use a homemade ghetto softbox - a cardboard frame with a couple of layers of tracing paper as a "window" in each side to soften everything and get rid of glare. Then it's just room lights or sunlight usually, though I can use flash too if I'm looking for something specific.
