Do you have any affordables (<$1000) in your regular rotation?

As a poor student, I'm curious to see if you guys regularly wear any cheapies alongside your high-end pieces. Does anything really stand out to you in this price bracket that can compete for wrist time with your AP's and Pateks? No doubt stuff like smart watches and G-Shocks for beaters, but what about mechanical?

I wouldn't say I have a regular rotation. Very mood dependent on what I will wear. My expensive pieces do tend to get the most wrist time though.

My collection is over 40 watches. Majority sub $1000. But a large portion does not get any wrist time.

To answer, I have several vintage pieces in the sub $1000 I regularly wear. Also one of my favorites is a modern (but out of production) Rado I got off Ebay for Sub $500

I have one watch that is technically over $1k retail but for which I paid under that. It gets maybe 4-5 days of wrist time per month, and I will never sell it because of its sentimental value. Also, I think it’s very versatile and looks nice.

It’s a Longines Conquest Heritage, the pics don’t really do it justice.

    All the best,
    A.

Yes, especially if you stretch to under $1500. These are less than $1000 (street) and get regular wear:

If you stretch to <$1500, you could include these:

Yes, I wear my pricier pieces more often, but all of those get worn regularly.

Yes ! I am a (relatively) poor just put three chidlren thru private colleges and they are all mechanicals ! Seiko, Raven, Crawler, Helson etc. I suppose one day I'll but something expensove but I feel no great compulsion to do so now. Don;t think that if your watch is not uber expensive it doesn't count.

    You have three mechanical children?!?

OP, you can see by my signature that I have a couple of high end watches, some in the mid range, and some cheaper. I would say that the cheaper ones get a bit less wear in general, but the divers, the Casio, and the Epos still get a lot of wear.

I wear my vintage Seamaster almost every day. It was under $1000 and is an awesome piece! It probably gets noticed more than my Lange & Sohne or some of the other $$$ pieces I've owned.

I get them as of my perception of quality, mainly vintage Seiko and Grand and King Seiko.

I regularly wear my gold G-shock one day and my FP Journe the next. I love both to death!
