    GO Seventies Panorama Date

I keep getting drawn back to this watch having first come across it 5 years ago but stupidly let myself get talked out of it. I have come to the belated conclusion that dress watches just don't do it for me and my "dress watch" should just be a dressier sport watch. The GO Seventies doesn't seem that popular on here which I guess is understandable given its retro look but to me it really does seem to straddle that casual/formal suitability very well. The Rolex sub is always held up as the ideal beach to boardroom watch but while I do love the sub, to me the only boardroom thing about it is that it costs a lot of money.

Anyway, I've decided the time has come to pick up the GO and am torn between the grey and blue dials. The blue is incredibly striking and it almost seems that it would be wrong not to get the blue...that said, the grey also seems to draw me in and is perhaps more versatile?

Any opinions on the watch and particularly the colour are welcome

    Thanks

One, I am totally with you on the dressy-sport aesthetic. I'm both hard on my watches, and I really just am not a "PM on a strap," kind of guy.

Two, I really like the grey version of the 70s. Excellent vertical symmetry, unique bracelet (which has GO version of glidelock), and just an overall cool looking watch.

I tried on the chronograph version a few weeks back and it is a stunning watch. The Sunburst treatment on the dial of both the blue and the gray look amazing in person. Personally I think this watch looks best on the bracelet and I love blue dialed watches with bracelets it provides some contrast. Grey dial watches with bracelets to make it sometimes look like too much gray tone.

I personally plan on purchasing the blue chronograph version at some point so the blue gets my vote. The bracelet is incredible on this watch.

I love this model. And the prices are really “fair” on the secondary market

Something about this blue, while interesting, doesn't do it for me like some other blues and interesting colors. I'd go the silver.

Thanks all for input so far. I was leaning towards the grey but to complicate the decision I’ve found a blue one that is 20% cheaper than I have seen the grey one for. That’s quite a difference and would maybe mean I get the bracelet and the rubber strap for some variety

Ok so I popped over to an AD to have another look (very few ADs in UK) and I’m sold on the grey. The blue is very interesting but is a little too metallic looking for my taste and I think I’d have preferred a slightly darker shade.
It’s a shame as the blue one I had found is at a very good price (if anyone in UK is looking at the watch PM me) but no point going against my gut.
The visit has reinforced my desire for the watch though, I think it’s stunning.

I'm a bit late to the game but ... Fantastic OP!
My preference was for the grey (although I haven't seen the blue in real life), it is stunning, unusual and interesting!

Love to see some pics of it on wrist!

    Cheers,
