    Waterbury mantle clock chime problem

Hello all. I have inherited my grandfather's Waterbury mantle clock. When we got it, my grandmother had it serviced and is in fine working order for about over 1 year. Recently, I noticed the hour strike is not striking... Well, It is striking the gong, however it dosent seem to be hitting with enough force to produce the strike effect. The hammer just seems to be bouncing from the gong. The main strike spring is wound and it operates as normal, just the strike is not sounding as it had previously. I had recently moved the clock from the table to the floor to clean the table, not sure if that has caused anything. I can't remember now if it has strikes properly since moving it back to its position. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome to Watchuseek. If you can't remember if it strikes properly since moving it back please test it for a few days. Let us know if the problem still happens.
