    Wempe Ships Clock

My Wempe ships clock on the sailboat does not keep time. It is 1.5v quartz... probably from the early 1980's when the boat was built. The matching barometer works.
Any advice on repair would be helpful.

Thank you for the photos. Do you also have a photo with the back
cover removed showing the quartz works inside?

I suppose you know when the second hand starts to miss some steps
that usually means the battery has run low. What is the indication of
    not keeping time?

    Thanks,

I have ordered a fresh battery, wondering if it was a bad one from the start....

Be sure to clean the contacts. Are there any special instructions restarting the movement inside the clock case?

None... no information on the movement or anything.... Amazon is a week out, waiting for the battery.... Avoiding going to stores in person... We are a bit of a virus hotspot here....

Look at the movement for some lettering like AC and possibly a small electrical pad.
Was the old battery leaking at all?
