Buying from a watch store - little annoyed

    Hi All,

Just a quick run down on what happened over the weekend that got me slightly annoyed, so my anniversary is approaching so i took my fiance shopping for a new watch (Michael Kors) so on the weekend we visited a local watch store. She found a couple of watches she liked but the one that she made the final decision on just happened to be the last one, display model, some swirl marks, no plastic protection on the bracelet or face also did not have a box or paperwork, so i thought it was fine for me to ask for a better price on the piece being a display model with no box or paperwork, we got rudely shutdown by the sales staff even after i explained my thoughts.

So my partner and i declined the purchase, my fiance went back to the display as there was the exact same watch just in a different shade with a different colour dial (which she also liked), they had this one new with the watch wrapped in the protective plastic with the box and paper work.

    The first watch

    The watch we purchased

We made the purchase at the exact same price that the other watch would have been.

I would love to hear everyone's thoughts on this.
Not a major issue for me or my partner would just like some insight from fellow members on this one.

PS i do not condone fashion watches but its what she likes lol

I would have left the shop without any purchase. However, I would never ever buy a MK.

Yup would have left without buying, crap attitude, they didn't deserve your business. Cosmetic blemishes and no box plus papers...? My usual dealer clears those at 40 to 65% discounts..dependent on the brand.
