I wanted an affordable skeleton, but sometimes they are just too gaudy. I came across this 45A121 "Arnold" Caravelle New York by Bulova on sale and had some coupon codes to get it for $100. I got a Crown & Buckle premium NATO strap for it and while it's not my favorite from my collection, I like it a lot. The black case could be matte instead of shiny, but since the face is matte black, it's got contrast and the second hand is red tipped. The skeleton face is still visible but toned down by the NYC pattern that's supposed to be reminiscent of a Subway token. The black / gray PVD coated NATO strap makes it a little less dressy as it came on a matching gun-metal clasp bracelet that wasn't of the highest quality. It looks like it runs on a hacking Chinese "Sea-Gull" TY2807 which is supposed to be fairly reliable. The finishing seems decent as Caravelle / Bulova probably have higher quality control than other fashion watch brands.
