Confused Daniel Wellington, Chinese white label?

    Hi All,

I have seen a few posts here about Daniel Wellington being a Chinese White Label and I have wondered if this is true. I would actually like to know if these are stock parts from a Chinese Factory or if the factories just began to copy the watch design after the watches became hugely popular.

Does anyone have any insight on this?

DW is a made in China fashion brand, along the lines of Fossil, Guess, etc. They're just trying to perpetuate an image of being associated with money.

As far as I know it is a Swedish company manufactured in China, like most products around the world. Many members have bemoaned the brand here for being made of stock parts from a Chinese manufacturer and having done very little if any actual design work to create their watches. Not that I am opposed to taking this claim at face value, but how do we know this to be true?

Well the only way to be sure is to open it up and see what's inside. I just looked at their website and "Our Story." It makes me suspect they use a cheap movement since they talk about using Italian straps but doesn't say anything about the source of their movement (which usually means its something they don't want to say). It also sounds like Filip should've at least asked Daniel to marry him. Sounds like the Daniel from the Nissan ads . . .
