    Fashion Brands

Now, I don't actually own any fashion brand watches at this moment in time, but have done in the past. WIZ's tend to hate them, but I am not sure why. Most are made by Fossil or Timex, and we all know both make reasonable time pieces. It's a misconception that they have to cost a fortune, as the few I previously owned cost peanuts, and to be fair they appeared to be reasonably well made, and looked quite pretty. I once sold an Armani for a friend, and was surprised how well made it was, and actually regretted not buying it myself. Of course, it is easy to go to your local jeweller and spend far more money than you need to, but have a look around and there are some bargains.

    OK.
I was just waking up when I first saw the post, but I agree! if you see a watch you like you should buy it and enjoy it! I do.

Don’t think anyone is saying you CAN’T have fashion watches in your collection - more that there is better value for money available. Its your money, and your wrist, buy and wear what you like

There is nothing wrong with fashion brand if they pull good quality products.
Skagen, Swatch and some others are doing fine. Fossil and Nixon have unique models which are totally cool and not available at other brands.
There is bunch of things i nit going to touch with 10ft pole but same could be said about non fashion brands too.
Bottom line if you enjoying it have fun . It's your watch after all.
    It should be special!

Never been a fan of fashion watches. I dont know why, but I always have this impression that they are less reliable in terms of movement and build quality. But I am most likely wrong

Having bought a number of them in recent weeks, I can say that, from where I sit, buying these watches used and busting them apart to assess their builds, I have come to the conclusion that if you buy a good brand of fashion watch (I am liking Fossil and Guess so far) with a good case (solid stainless, titanium or similar), they will usually come with a competent-if-unspectacular movement and can be excellent values. At full sticker...eh, you can get a better deal, but not used.

Mostly quartz right? Are there fashion brands that make automatic watches?

Sometimes I find it hard to decide what the line is between a 'fashion' brand, and some of the affordable 'microbrands.'
For example, some of the microbrands are quite 'fashionable,' but this doesn't seem to make them fashion brands?

Traska for example, is quite a cool, fashionable piece (with the mint dial).
    Nodus make pretty 'fashionable' watches.
There are some really new microbrands out there at the moment like Ganymede, or MAS Watches, or Xeric, that have really trendy cool designs - What makes it a fashion brand as opposed to a microbrand?
