Help Please...Michael Kors MK8157 crystal size???

    Hello everyone

Does anyone know what the size of the crystal used in the MK8157? It's the 45mm blackout chronograph. I own the watch and the crystal is chipped and scratched. It would be cool if I can replace it. Perhaps someone know's a replacement crystal size that would fit?

    Thank you for any help

    Cheers

Have you checked with your local watchmakers?

Good thought. Would I ask the watchmaker to tell me the size of the crystal? Would that involve them taking it off to measure it?

Note you'll want to take to a watchmaker and not a mall jeweler.

With that said you might be surprised by the cost to have them do it. For an MK this might be a good time to try and fit one yourself. You really only need a micrometer which is like $10 on the bay. Flat mineral crystals can be had for $3.

Or you could check MK service options. Fossil has a pretty good warranty and when I got into watches and before I got better at tinkering I sent in mine to get a new crystal for pretty cheap if I recall correctly.

I'll do that. I once recently swapped out a crystal on a seiko skx so fingers crossed I can do it again. I still have the press. Measuring the current crystal should be easy. Any recommendations on a good micrometer?

You should be fine then! I use a cheapo from ebay $10 if that.

Got a pic of the watch? Would be helpful to troubleshoot.

Update... Fix in progress Re: Help Please...Michael Kors MK8157 crystal size???

So I got the old scratched up Crystal, measured it and ordered a new one on eBay. The original was a domed crystal but with the watch already being a larger watch I felt it made the watch look bigger. So I ordered a flat crystal. Hopefully that change doesn't haunt me.
