Dear members of the forum,
Years ago my dad brought my from Thailand an IWC knockoff which I was very fond of.
It is battery operated so I assume it is a quartz movement, I don't remember which, but a watchmaker who replaced a battery was surprized to find it in a knockoff. It has been working flawlessly for years.
Although I am fascinated with the inner workings of mechanical movements, and would love to collect "true" watches, I don't have the money for that at this point in my life.
So anyway, this watch taught me two things about myself:
1) For me wearing a watch (as opposed to collecting) is like wearing jewelry - I care more about the looks than what's inside nor I care for the brand.
2) I need it to be reliable and not break down after one year, and to be water resistant for handwashing. 🙂
Lately I have been wanting to buy another watch for myself.
Assuming my budget for now is at most 120$, and given these two requirements, which watches / brands would you recommend me to buy?
I like the chronograph look, and metallic bands. I don't care much about the brand.
P.S - I have read that the timex watches are rather noisy, would like to avoid something too noisy.
