    Nautica Watch FAIL

    Hello. I bought α Nautica A18593 watch on 14 October 2015.
    Im totally disappointed by this watch and I wish I hadn't bought it.
    First of after 3 weeks of use it had one hour difference. At the service, they fixed the battery and then they told me that it was ok.
    A week after, it had 5 minutes difference. I left it at the service and they told me that I could not demand a new watch, so they just replaced the mechanism with another one.

    Apart from this, my watch got scratched easily from the first weeks ( i never misused it, i do not know why this happened)

    That's totally unacceptable since this watch costs 275 euros and I want it work properly and not being scratched so easily. "Warranty" means that they are obliged to replace the watch with another one, since I took it twice to the service.
    Suffice it to say, that I suggested all my friends that they not buy anything from this company again.
    Ιm disappointed with their watch's quality and their "warranty".

    For future reference, it would be a good idea to join a forum about a topic and read up *before* purchasing. It could help avoid the need for future first-post disappointment threads

    Welcome to the forums! Sorry to hear about your experience. Next time consider avoiding fashion brands and looking towards Orient, Seiko, or Tissot for an affordable watch.

    Correct. Being a newbie you can't upload directly from your computer. Using a photo host will work without any problem.
    Sorry to hear about your problems. Have never owned or will ever own a Nautica. Not what collector's are deeply impressed of. Get a "real" watch for the money. Seiko, Orient come to my mind.

    Being a fashion brand, it most likely had a mineral coated crystal, which incidentally scratches easily. A sapphire crystal resists scratches better; however, mineral crystals are less prone to shatter. Seiko uses a proprietary coating on their crystals called Hardlex which is similar in characteristics to sapphire crystals.

    Nautica = Timex

    Recommend a Casio as your next watch. They are the most reliable watches in my experience.

    OCW-S100 is 40mm all titanium, sapphire, solar, atomic, perpetual calendar, 32 time zones (very subtle, almost hidden, around the chapter ring)

    $454 shipped from Chino in Tokyo.....uh, $468 now.

    Re: Nautica Watch FAIL

    I collect fashion watches, and I've almost bought several Nautica watches. I didn't realize until recently that they were made by Timex. They have a repair facility about 30 minute from here with a showroom and sell them CHEAP. The Nautica's were the most expensive I saw there, but even then most of them were only about $50-$60. They also make Marc Echo, Versus by Versace (which they don't carry at this showroom), and a few others I didn't recognize. At that price, I really need to make another trip up there.
