    Thoughts on Movado Sportivo?

I'm thinking about buying a Movado Sportivo for a friend for Christmas, I know he likes the clean look of Movado but I just can't bring myself to buy a watch that you can't tell the actual time on. The Sportivo gives you the small dots around the outside to make the time readable. Also like the fact it has a date function. The watch is pretty cheap on ebay at this point so I think it will make a nice gift. Anybody own or have an opinion on the watch? Picture below

and I have been debating myself about this very issue,

My conclusion is, Movado is a well made, easily recognizable Fashion timepiece whose main function is not timekeeping, but dressy good looks. I already own an Omega Planet Ocean, and it is definitely a 'tool watch'.

None of my friends have ever heard of it and don't even notice it when I wear it. But a Movado is like a Rolex in terms of recognition factor. EVERYONE has seen one, and I think generally they are regarded highly. IF they were crap, they wouldn't have been around as long as Rolex and Omega.

Like we say here, if you like it buy it............
The day my ship comes in, I'll probably be at the airport

Movado sportiv just dosen't do it for me the best Movado was the museum collection I think when ever somebody talks about Movado their classic museum watch comes to mind.
