What is wrong with my Fossil watch? the digital part isn't lighting up

Hi there, this is my first post so I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong section.

I have a fossil watch which I bought second hand. The back case says "BG-2016" which I am assuming is the model. The back also says "big tic" in big letters. I looked everywhere online but haven't been able to find out much about the watch other than there are a couple of similar watches from Fossil.

The problem I am having is that the led type display isn't lighting up properly. If I hold the light button, a weak blue light stays solid. If I press the light button, it flashes the weak blue light. Its keeping time fine but the lcd isn't working like it should.

Today I went to a watch shop and had the big battery changed and it's still doing the same thing. Sometimes pressing the button doesn't even do anything (maybe something with the contact?)

What do you think it could be? The shop suggested I take the watch to Fossil, but I'm not the original owner.

I'm trying to upload photos but it keeps failing. I took them with my IPhone 4s, are they too big for this website?

Upload of pics is indeed limited, try a photohost.

Fossil will pretty much fix anything wrong with the watch for a flat $45 fee. They also warranty movement for 11 years, you could always see if digital display meets that criteria. Hit them up on Twitter.

Did you just have a battery swap? If they are 2 separate batteries possibly the digital part is out of juice.
