From January 18th to 24th, the almost three century old Maison Favre-Leuba unveils as a world premiere its new manufactured movement, the FL 401 (download the pdf file which also contains pictures, HERE (3.4 MB)).

This high-frequency 5 Hertz movement (36'000 vib/h) has been boosted with a long power reserve and will no doubt be celebrated as an outstanding opus among the long dynasty of Favre-Leuba calibres.

All along its history, Favre-Leuba has continued developing the performance and innovation of its timepieces, blending breakthrough technology and traditional savoir-faire. The legendary Twin-power, featuring the fi rst ever double barrel (1950), the Bivouac encapsulating a mechanical altimeter (1962), the Bathy, with its mechanical depth gauge (1966), and the Sea Raider with its high-frequency movement (1967), perfectly illustrate the brand's continuous willingness to reinvent its future. As a pioneer of high-frequency movements, the Maison Favre-Leuba conceived the Sea Rider with a 36'000 vib/h movement as early as in 1967, thereby inaugurating a long line of extremely precise timepieces.

The new FL 401 that is being brought to light in January 2009 can boast of unrivalled performances as it combines the high precision of a 36'000 vib/h with a 8-day power-reserve.

Technical data FL 401 :
> 36'000 vib/h (5 Hertz)
> Hand-wound mechanical movement
> 8-day power-reserve
> Double barrel
> 23 jewels
