Baselworld preview: watch for a living legend

From 26th March to 2nd April the Oris team will be in action at the annual watch and jewellery fair Baselworld. The fair is the largest of its kind in the world attracting over 100,000 visitors from 100 countries and with 2000 companies from 45 countries filling 160,000m2 of exhibition space!

As ever, Oris has its stand in Hall 1.0, the “Hall of Dreams”. It’s an apt name, especially this year when the dreams of both Oris and music enthusiasts come true with a very special Limited Edition. One of Oris’ highlights for the 2009 Baselworld exhibition is a watch dedicated to a living legend: the Oris Bob Dylan Limited Edition.

The rectangular stainless steel case houses the top quality Oris mechanical movement. A circular movement in a rectangular case goes against the grain and stands out from the crowd – just like Bob Dylan. The dial carries a subtle printed ‘flower’ pattern – a nod to the early 1960s when Dylan’s career first took off.

The limited edition number – from 0001/3000 to 3000/3000 – is engraved on the case back next to Dylan’s portrait and the small window that gives a glimpse of the Oris movement and the famous red rotor.

If you have time to visit us in the Hall of Dreams (Hall 1.0, Stand C21) you’ll be able to see the watch on display. For those of you who live further away, don’t worry! We’ll bring you news and pictures from our Baselworld stand both during and after the event direct to your MyOris news page. Watch this space!
