    Longines Service

Question for those with more experience:

I have a 1962 Longines automatic watch with a 350 movement. The watch is losing time every day so I brought it to a recommended watch shop and I was told that I had the wrong crystal on the watch and that it needed a complete service.

He quoted me $500 for the service including the correct crystal. He said it would be more if I needed parts. I've used this store in the past and he's been very helpful.

What do you think. Is this watch worth a $500 servicing or should I look around?

    Any suggestions would be great.

    Thanks!

These days it's not too far off norm, depending on location. When was it last serviced?

Sounds about right for a good job with guarantee

You have to think ,if they are cheaper are they cutting corners !

I bought the watch about 2 years ago on ebay and it has always kept accurate time. Lately it has been running slowly and making some noise as I wind it.

So I thought I would have someone look at it.

Thanks. That's the kind of information I was looking for. I have used this shop before and he's always done great work.

    Thanks again.
