Question Help identifying bracelet clasp logo

I'm probably wasting my time posting this question here, so excuse me if I'm brief ....

But could anybody please help identify this bracelet clasp logo ? I know I've seen it somewhere before.

    It's on an Orient(al) watch.

    Flash-lit for clarity:

    Thanks for any replies.

I think I have also seen that logo on an Orient watch dial, but I can't recall where..

    Thanks for the reply, Tony.

That's what's really bugging me, too - but where have we seen it ?

By the way, I know you're into Orient quartz chrono's - even though I've kinda cornered the market in their '7A38' J39 variants. This logo is on the bracelet clasp of a RACER branded Orient J39723-70:

Racer was originally an Orient sub-brand for the Spanish market. I've started a thread on my forum, if you're interested:

Topic: RACER J39 by Orient Watch Co. - The Spanish 7A38 Inquisition - Seiko 7A38 - by the numbers

Hopefully, once I've taken a few more photos, I'll be updating it again tomorrow.

Are you sure it was on an Orient dial, Tony ?

Took me a while to find it again, but this is what I was thinking of. From: https://forums.watchuseek.com/f281/se...ry-209014.html

    Close but no cigar.
That was what first came to mind but that one always reminded me of a phallus.. Often wondered why Seiko would use such a logo..

    Yeah.

I'm wondering if that bracelet clasp logo belongs to a (bracelet) sub-contract manufacturer, rather than Orient.

it's the orient logo used on the dial of some of their quartz watches.

Re: Help identifying bracelet clasp logo

Thanks for the two super helpful replies, Skippington.

Must admit I've never personally seen it on any Orient quartz watch before ....
But then again, I restrict my collecting of them to Orient J39's (re-branded Seiko 7A38's) and now Racer J39's.

Funny, I'd also been wondering if there was any connection with (Seiko) Thailand. That logo sort of looks Thai to me.

Just that there's also something a little odd with this particular Racer J39's dial part numbering.
All the other Orient and Racer J39 dial part number I've come across so far include: JAPAN, SI (Seiko Instruments - the 'giveaway') J392 and a partial of the model number (R suffix on the Racer versions) + dial number.

    This one's a little different:

Next question: Anybody got any ideas what BK stands for ?

Re: Help identifying bracelet clasp logo

i think it's supposed to look like a quartz crystal. i would speculate that it's an old logo from the 70's that orient doesn't use anymore. the red watch is a current homage to 70's style orient watches. the watch in the second link is an old watch, which i would guess is from the 70's or 80's. modern quartz orients don't seem to use the logo outside of the neo-70's line.
