    Vintage JLC Master Mariner question

Hi all, long time lurker here. Looking to get my first mechanical watch and decided to go for a vintage. I found this JLC piece and would like some opinions on its authenticity and value.

I really like the design, so as long as I'm not massively overpaying and it's authentic, I'm good to go. Appreciate any help!

Its actually a LeCoultre not a JLC. Different companies. The LeCoultre made a lot of watches back in the day for the US market.

I found a similar watch that says JLC on the dial instead of LeCoultre. It's much cheaper though. It seems the Cal 164 HPG movement isn't sought after, and there were variants of this watch selling for $500-600 instead of $1,700.

I like the high beat movement but it seems too much of a price difference.
