    VINTAGE OMEGA REDIAL?

    Hello All,

I recently purchased a 1952 Omega Cal. 283. The seller claimed that the dial, crystal, hands, and crown were all original. However, I'm wondering about the dial. The "Omega" text looks bad to me. Also, the seconds hand is blue. However, I am not an expert on this sort of thing. Can anyone else offer their insight? I didn't pay a lot for the watch, but the untouched aspect was very appealing. Thanks!

What reference number is engraved on the inside of the caseback? That is always helpful in determining what the watch should look like.

The Omega text on the dial was definitely redone, it also appears to be missing any sort of "SWISS MADE" text below the 6 o'clock index, and I suspect the lume has been redone. So, I suppose all of the components could technically be considered "original" (depending on the ref.) but they are certainly not "untouched", including the case, which appears to have received a polish.

Yes,could be original but not authentic, the dial is clearly a repaint and hands are......As above said, could be only a play of words....

PS. ref is 2640 and should look like this:

Sorry, but to confirm, dial is reworked.
