    Bremont DLC coating durability

    Hi all,

I'm in the process of ordering a MBII and an option I'm considering is the black DLC coating.

I think it looks fantastic, however my only concern is the durability of the DLC coating vs the standard steel finish. This will be used while flying in various aircraft types and as such there's a good chance I'll bang it into a fair bit of stuff.

Input from those with experience with either the DLC or standard Bremont watches would be greatly appreciated! And of course.. happy to see photos of even the slightest relevance!

    James

I have had 3 DLC Coated Bremonts over the past few years. For the most part it is very durable. That being said.... you whack it real good into something it can leave a mark (similar to even hardened steel). I have had the Bremont Alt1tude SE for several years in DLC and it has held up great.

DLC - Diamond Like Carbon is the most durable coating for a watch there is. Yes you could dent the steel with a hard enough bang but DLC won't wear off edges over time like the less durable PVD coatings.
