Rolling eyes Question about my Bremont Solo/WH-SI/BR

When I finally manage to pull out the crown (usually quite a battle) to the 1st. stop the second hand stops. I've never had a watch with a Swiss auto movement do this. The second hand usually keeps moving until you pull it out to the 2nd stop to adjust the time. Are they all like this, or is mine in need of service?

Re: Question about my Bremont Solo/WH-SI/BR

I'm going to ask a stupid question, but I have a reason for doing so: Are you sure that you're stopping on the first stop and not directly going to the second stop?

The reason I ask this is that I had crown issues with my Bremont that I had to send it back to them for resolution, where it was extremely difficult to get it to pop into the winding stop and would directly go to the first stop (date and GMT hand set) when I unscrewed the crown). Hence my first stop got skipped and I went straight to my second stop, which sounds like what you might be experiencing.

    Regards,
    Alysandir

Re: Question about my Bremont Solo/WH-SI/BR

When I owned the MBII, I always experienced the crown immediately going to the second stop when pulling it out. You had pull out the crown just right in order to have it catch to the first position. And man, that was such a trying and incredibly annoying task since I had to pull the crown several times until it finally caught to the first position. I actually owned the MBII three times before and experienced this same issue on all three, so this leads me to believe that they're all like this (at least the crowns in the MB range). These days, I own an ALT1-C P/W and I have an entirely different crown issue. This time around, the crown is damn near impossible to pull out using just my fingers. The crown is so tightly flush against the case that I have to actually use my teeth to pull it out, albeit I first drape a piece of cloth, such as a cotton shirt, over the crown before using my teeth to pull it out, the purpose of this being to protect my pearly whites from possible chipping or cracking. Bremont is known for putting some great tech in their watches and you would think that they would extend that tech to the crown, but I guess not since their crowns are for crap. They're either insanely difficult to pull or way too easy that they completely skip a stop.

Just discovered that you are right. When I manage to pull the crown out it goes all the way to the 2nd stop. Crown design isn't one of the brothers crowning touches. Maybe that's why they include the strap tool...so U can use the flat end to pop out the damn crown. Thanks for the help.

I'm afraid I tend to agree, and it only gets worse as time passes. After I got it back from their service, everything was working fine again, but after about 3-4 months, I started noticing the little signs of issues again. Not being a watchmaker, I cannot say for certain what the actual issue is, but it's almost like the crown stem is friction-fitted and over time it shifts position, making it more onerous to get the crown out.

It is pretty hard to find the first stop. at least I have no sucess since I own them. Usually goes to second stop and then push back to the first stop. Are you sure it is not stuck in the middle between the first and the second stop.
