Alpina Alpiner spring bars/ lug width

    Hello all,

I just learned my 42mm Alpiner has curved spring bars, so I have some questions.

Does the Alpkner need curved spring bars? Will straight spring bars work or will they fail to clear the case?
If I need to replace the bars, would I need 21 or 22mm curved bars? Same size if I use straight bars? Proper width of the tips of the spring bars that go in the holes in the lugs?

Any or all answers are most appreciated!

Re: Alpina Alpiner spring bars/ lug width

I recently got an Alpiner Chronograph 41.5 with 21mm lugs from a grey market seller.

The strap was mounted on straight spring bars. Because of this, the oem strap had some wear on the part where the strap is closest to the watch head. Also, when I tried to mount an aftermarket strap using the straight spring bars that the watch came with, I could not get enough clearance between the watch head and the strap to be able to fit the end of one of the bars into the lug hole.

I believe that you should get 21mm curved spring bars with 1.5mm diameter that should fit most straps. Also, the tip I am assuming would be the regular sized diameter of .8 mm.

X2 on Swiss Reimagined curved spring bars. I've had great experience with their product.
