for FC movements (700 series, mine is the fc 715), is the moonphase independent of the time and date setting, i.e. its accuracy is maintained so long as the watch has power in teh mainspring? Or is it linked to the rotation of the hands for the most accurate setting?
The CW version with the JJ movement is independent, and so the moonphase rotates with the watches mainspring charge only, hands and quick set date are moved independently, which seems neat for watche son winders or if you forget to forward a 30 month date for instance.
What about our FC's? Next month in September, should I forward the quick set date at a certain time, or will the moonphase follows its own rate independently?
