Beautiful! Congrats! That's a lovely watch. The blue sunburst dial is stunning. I was on the fence about the same model for a while...but I have two other pilots and decided to go another direction. But, I do have an Alpiner 4 GMT on the way. Like you, it will be my first Alpina.

Sweet. The blue dial version of this is awesome in person. Good choice!

I still have not received the watch, seems it is still stuck somewhere in PA!!
A question regarding the GMT, that is lovely watch and I have looked at it, and am still looking at it, but have a question, what is the 36 numbers on the outer bezel ? All the GMT's I have seen have 24 hourly markers.

    Thanks
    Tony

It's a compass. You can use the 24hr hand with the bezel and the sun's position in the sky to determine north. Kind of useless for the modern adventurer, but a neat callback to Alpina's history as an important sport watch.
