    New watch arrived

    Hello everyone.

Well, Fed-ex came through and delivered a day earlier than I expected!

It looks great, wears great. I was looking for the chronograph version of this, but found this from an authorized dealer (on Amazon) at a great price, just a little higher than the best gray market price. The Chrono was out of stock on all the Gray market dealers I checked, and not much discount from Authorized dealer.

My first impression is the center gray part of the dial is a little darker, in person, than the photos I had seen, but I still think it looks great.

    Cheers
    Tony

This photo is closer to the true color of the dial.

God, that's a great watch! Congrats! Is this one 40 or 44mm?

That's a beautiful watch. Funny, as I was looking into an Alpina purchase. Very nice. Enjoy. Would be curious to hear your impressions on accuracy after you wear it a while.

This is the 44 mm. The 40 does not have the black ring around the dial, I think this looks better. The chrono is a killer too, with black subdials. They would complement your GMT very much :)

This is my second Alpina. This one so far after 24 hours, is +4 sec, with constant wear. My other, which I bought used, and now have had for a few months, is keeping consistently +3. So I think accuracy is not a problem at all. The only thing that might potentially be a problem is if you do not like the large sizes.

Prior to the Alpina's the largest watch I had was 42 mm, with most 40 and under. I was a little concerned with the size, not so much how it will look, as I have pretty large wrists, but with how I my other watches would fair after I get used to this size. Well, that has turned out to be a problem. so far my 40 mm are fine, but anything less, starts to look too small !! I have some 35 and 36, they look like a toy watch on my wrist now. I guess if you wear them for a few days will be back to being OK again. We will see.

    Cheers
