    Strange Sound from Alpiner Rotor

    Hello again,

The rotor on my Alpiner (SW200 base) is so loud when it spins and makes an extra spring sound when it stops (like a "twang"). Additionally, there's a single, very fast and subtle "click" that occurs when I wind it. As far as I can tell, it still runs well.

Any ideas? I haven't popped the back off. These are things I haven't noticed with my other autos.

    Thanks for the help,

    CN

It's likely the cause of a bad reverser wheel. It's quite common in the Sellita movements, happens with ETA movements from time to time also, but not as often.
If it's a recent purchase, it'll be covered by the manufacturers warranty, good luck!

Turns out that the watch was just fully wound and the sound was the slipping clutch preventing overwinding! I'll let it wind itself from now on.

You're recommendation led me to get it looked at! You and the watchmaker thought the same thing.

    I appreciate the help!
