    Lange Rose Gold Formulation

I have a rose gold Lange 1815 up/down (39mm, late 2016), on a dark brown strap. It’s absolutely beautiful but I have noticed that it isn’t all that rosy compared to newer ones, which now come on a lighter brown strap. Does anyone know if Lange changed their RG alloy composition and added more copper in the last couple of years?

Stunningly beautiful. I love the rose gold/blue hands/red accents. A perfect watch.

I’m not aware of their having changed the formulation, but it’s certainly possible. There are, however, two other possibilities. One is that the white balance and or lighting in photos is different. The other is that your watch has changed color somewhat over time—not unusual as the copper oxidizes a bit to green. Some brands have formulations that resist this (“Sedna” gold, for example), but others don’t. Personally, I love how yours looks in your pic.

Here is mine, for reference. White balance is correct. Mine is 2018 production.
