    33. Strap Style

I have begun playing with the straps on my two GMTs. I think these are fairly versatile watches, so I figured create a place to post strap changes as they come up.

    Looks good on mesh.

I've finally settled on a brown leather Stowa strap for my blue dial after first trying it on black and then a different brown strap that didn't quite work for me.

    Re: 33. Strap Style

I've always wished this guy had a bracelet option. Then it suddenly hit me that I've kept my GMT parked right next to my Wenger Escort Rectangle which has a nice 20mm bracelet... and whose black face would look fantastic with the black strap I had on the GMT... swap time!

After prying off the bottom half of the leather (how I hate doing that!), I managed to get the Wenger bracelet 95% of the way onto the GMT... then paused. It was such a tight fit that I feared it would never come off once I let the springbar go. So I made myself take one final look, and what do you know?

The square case of the GMT is ever so slightly rounded, making it impossible to install a perfectly straight end link like the one from the Wenger.

Here is the watch with the bracelet almost installed. I think it would have looked really sweet had it worked out.

Fooling around a bit more. I find this one too thick with a straight strap.

    Re: 33. Strap Style

The black leather was a bit dressy for me so i've tried to dress it down a bit with this grey suede.
I think i've succeeded, but not sure if it's just too much grey ??

    Re: 33. Strap Style

I was gazing at my grey dial watch the other day and thinking it might look good on a dark blue/navy strap with white stitching, maybe a croc grain. Has anyone tried that combo? (grey on blue)
