The answer to my aesthetics question: M29 Classic

A heartfelt thank you to those who chimed in a few weeks ago with your opinions on my 29er Big vs. M29 Classic internal debate. As I suspected, the opinions were very evenly split, although the first half of the replies were universally in favor of the 29er, while the second half were unanimous in favor of the M29. It was weird. Anyway, in the final analysis, my heart was pulled in the direction of the vintage-sporty looks of the M29. I placed the order with Dan at Timeless Luxury Watches last week and the watch arrived yesterday. I'm very pleased with the watch, and here are a few marginal iPhone pics:

The only aspect of the watch that I haven't enjoyed so far was sizing the band. Let me emphasize this...IT WAS NOT FUN. Now granted, I don't have a vice (which would've helped), but the push-pins-inside-the-tubes-thing was a pain. I actually broke my Bergeon tool during the hour it took me to remove three stinking links. OK...end of rant.

The watch is great. It actually looks better than I expected on the bracelet. I have a custom strap on order from Peter Gunny that I think will take it to a whole new level. I can't wait.

Never seen that one on a bracelet before, usually they are on brown straps, but it looks good on stainless. Nice choice.

The pics I've seen of it on a bracelet are underwhelming (mine, too), but it looks much better in person than in pics. I think it absolutely shines on a nice brown strap, though.
