Mühle M29 Medium for 18.5cm wrist

    Hey everyone,

Some of you may have seen my posts before as I am on the search for an everyday watch which I can one day pass down to my son, should he want it in 20-30 years. I have considered many watches such as the Sinn 104 & 556, Nomos Club, Oris Aquis, and Stowa Flieger. In the end, something has always held me back from pulling the trigger.

Recently, I rediscovered across the M29 having seen the pointer-date version on the wrist of an acquaintance of mine. I was blown away by the finishing. I did a bit of digging and was impressed to learn everything Mühle does with their movements to insure excellent accuarcy.

My question for you is, will the M29 Medium be too small for my 7-1/4in Wrist?

I am looking interested in the black dialed version on the bracelet. I gernerally prefer 38-40mm watches. I greatly dislike the "dinner plate" look of larger watches. Given the bezel & lug design, I am hoping that the m29 medium will wear larger than its 36.6mm size suggests. If anyone can shed some light on the subject I would be very appriciative.

I work as a teacher and need something that looks good with business-casual clothing.

As an alternative, I LOVE the S.A.R but fear that it is far too "tooly" for my profession and everyday life. Based on the liturature, the S.A.R. is nearly "Toddler-proof" which is very attractive when considering a watch with small destructive children.

Of these two with a wrist size of 18,5cm I‘d go for the S.A.R.

However, I am not sure the S.A.R. Is a watch to be passed down in 20/30 years. The rubber bezel might show some signs of tear and wear and the chance is, it can‘t be replaced in 20-30 years. The M29 imho fits better into an „all time classic“ category. Out of these two the M29 would be my choice.
    Kind regards
    Mike

I love the SAR but given your situation, the M29 might offer more versatility. It's all dial so it would likely wear larger than the 36.6mm size suggests. Plus I do prefer smaller watch real estate on a wrist (i.e., I prefer to see some strap/bracelet vs the watch face covering the wrist) so I think it would suit your wrist fine, but it's a very personal thing, of course. Good luck with your decision!

I had a white dialed M29 one at one time and I really liked it. Easy to dress up or down. Very nice case finishing.

Comfortable, sits low and flat on the wrist.

And, I could wear it easily on my 17.1cm wrist.

    Good luck.

The M29 wears like a large 36mm watch, as the dial ist around 33mm.
The SAR is an awesome watch and would be perfect in the "destructive children" environment but as Mike already stated, who knows what will be in 20/30 years.
Even if the rubber would be intact by then it will surely look worn down

I love and had both watches and the SAR is of course a very special watch that also has superior lume.
    Get both :)

My guess is yes due to the likely bigger dial and thinner bezel. I like the BB36. :)

I just saw a S.A.R in the wild this evening... That is a great looking watch, especially on the non-two toned bracelet the guy was wearing it on.

I really have a thing for this Muhle with the white dial. I need to quit looking at it. Idk there is just something about it. It wears larger then the 37mm case but not huge.
